Wholesale Banking Wholesale Banking, led by Perry Pelos, provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally, with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. The Role The Tax Accountant 4 position will be part of a growing Center of Excellence ("COE") team that is focused on being excellent in its' operations of document collection, withholding and reporting under Chapter 61, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 for the Wholesale lines of business. This includes ensuring a wonderful customer experience by our customer, the line of business. A tax background is needed in this dynamic role to support our customers and the efforts of team members in their functions as the COE builds its' tax technology and processes while prioritizing how the lines of business will be engaged by the COE to perform their tax functions. Individual Responsibilities Work collaboratively with team members within Wells Fargo, particularly within the COE and the lines of business. Develop and foster relationships within the COE and with business partners Assist in the process of compiling the International line of business customer transactions and their associated tax data, performing analytics to determine reporting requirements and prepare supporting audit ready workpapers Identify tax risks in the line of business by proactively being engaged and propose solutions to mitigating those risks Perform quality control checks on line of business information returns under their current process and document findings in standardized templates Assist in the quality assurance of the Center of Excellence services it provides to the customer Assist with the development, documentation and maintenance of controls, policies and procedures to ensure excellent execution and adherence to regulations Maintain a high level of knowledge of the tax law and regulations as it relates to Chapter 61, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 Perform tax research and document findings as needed Assist in creating a Customer Experience team within the Center of Excellence The Candidate The person in this role should be collaborative, flexible, detailed oriented and possess a strong work ethic. Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
