Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses. The Wholesale Control (WC) organization serves as the front line risk management organization within the Wholesale Banking group of Wells Fargo supporting the Wholesale businesses with risk strategy, implementation, and execution. The Wholesale Control team is accountable to assess and effectively manage risks across all risk types and Wholesale businesses delivering an integrated view of risks, producing a sustainable control environment, and instilling a culture of strong risk management. The team is responsible to identify and assess risks, design and implement controls, and execute and monitor the controls to ensure they are effectively managing risk. Wholesale Control interfaces with Independent Risk Management and Audit to drive comprehensive and consistent implementation of regulatory and corporate risk policies and programs across Wholesale. This position will provide Business Control support for three commercial real estate businesses - Real Estate Banking (REB), Specialty Real Estate Finance (SREF), and the REIT Finance Group (RFG). Responsibilities include development, implementation, and monitoring of risk-based programs to identify, assess, and mitigate risks that arise from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency. Will be a control and risk point of contact to the REB, SREF, and REIT businesses Work closely with business partners to design controls to mitigate risks Assists the business in describing and documenting procedures covering control processes Assists in the implementation of control and risk programs within the business Assists with the a) evaluation with the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and internal controls, b) analysis of business and/or system changes to determine impact and c) identification and assessment of risk issues and the assignment of risk ratings consistent with established policy standards Consults with business to develop corrective action plans and effectively manage change Reports findings and drafts recommendations to mitigate risk to business management May coordinate production of periodic control / risk performance reports for senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies Assists with Testing and Audit support, acting as a subject matter expert on processes, controls and aligned policies. May also assist in the gathering of information in support of any testing, audit, or review activity Leadership, integrity, and credibility will be determining factors in selection. Required Qualifications 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both Desired Qualifications Advanced Microsoft Office skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to interact with all levels of an organization Knowledge and understanding of Tableau Other Desired Qualifications Demonstrated leadership ability that embodies the Wells Fargo Vision & Values, unwavering ethical integrity, and leadership competencies Experience in and or exposure to risk and control monitoring and reporting (including control evaluation and assessment) Familiarity with Commercial Real Estate Business Demonstrated ability to solve problems and analyze issues when data is collected from multiple sources and know how to ask the right questions to obtain the information needed to properly assess potential risk Experience with Wells Fargo's corporate organizational structure, operating model, and the systems necessary to support the business control program (e.g. SHRP, RCSA, ILD, DLP, etc.) Self-motivation and proven ability to be adaptable to a dynamic work environment with multiple priorities and strict timelines Strong management reporting skills, ability to translate data into actionable information. Experience in the coordination, creation and review and or facilitation of reporting for consumption by senior leaders and/or board of directors Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and understanding of how they are implemented, managed and enforced in a LOB. •Strong interpersonal, influencing and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and experience with virtual, matrixed leadership and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the business and enterprise Risk function Ability to identify risks and confidently raise issues, escalate early and engage in constructive credible challenge and will do so independently when necessary Proven ability to pro actively manage and resolve conflict and effectively defend decisions with objective rationale Prior experience or exposure in adapting to and or reviewing/understanding policies and/or procedures particularly those tied to regulatory compliance requirements Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments Knowledge of REB, SREF, RFG products and services (as applicable).
