The position is involved with the safety aspects of the development of complex modern weapon systems, targets and ordnance devices, and the management of risks involved in the testing and handling of new experimental ordnance devices or explosive materials. Includes the following specific types of efforts: (a) System safety work involving the analysis of target systems to identify and eliminate safety hazards inherent in the design. Candidate should have experience performing the following analyses in accordance with MIL-STD-882E: System Hazard Analyses (SHA), Preliminary Hazard Analyses (PHA), Subsystem Hazard Analyses (SSHA) and Operating and Support Hazard Analyses (O&SHA). The applicant should have both a hardware and software safety background and be able to perform engineering technical services and make recommendations on systems support plans based on customer requirements.
