PURPOSE: Assist the Branch Shop Manager to carry out the functions of the fabrication shop. Ensure safe and efficient work flow by supervising shop staff and overseeing production in accordance with company policy, customer demands, and local, state and federal regulations. BASIC FUNCTIONS Must adhere to Harris Rebars safety programs and standards. Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebars vision and values. Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping of the area, and meeting production quality and quantity standards in the designated functional area. Supervise all personnel and operations on designated shift(s) and/or areas. Oversee daily work assignments, and work schedules so that the most efficient use is made of all resources and equipment. May have assistance from Rebar Fabricator Lead. Troubleshoot production problems encountered by workers so that delays are minimized and equipment functions as safely and efficiently as possible. Oversee maintenance on shop equipment in the designated functional area so that downtime is minimized and equipment functions as safely as possible. Perform quality inspections of completed work so that the correct quantity of correctly fabricated and correctly tagged material will be shipped to the proper customers destination. Assist in the evaluation of employees so that appropriate compensation can be made to employees based on merit. Perform various jobs such as operation of sheer, bender, crane operator, car puller, fork-lift operator, etc. so that shift work is done efficiently and on time. Begin managing contractual issues relating to assigned projects. BASIC FUNCTIONS Must adhere to Harris Rebars safety programs and standards. Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebars vision and values. Independently detail and coordinate complex projects. Continue developing advanced detailing skills with the Harris Detailing System (i.e. building library routines for reuse in future projects, develop an ability to detail in paper space/model space in RebarCAD). Verify drawings, dates, specifications, addenda and other contractual information from the routing sheet or directly from the business system. Work with job site personnel to determine project requirements for detailing and delivery of material. Identify and develop information required to inform the customer of any changes to the contract. Address change-order with the customer, produce change-order document and enter it in the business system. Refer complex issues to supervisor. Detail accessories, mesh, couplers and dowel bars and prepare material lists as required. Communicate with A/E, steel placer and customer on all questions relating to project. Develop ability to enter all orders in Harris Rebars business system and prepare reports to assist in management of project(s). Enter all drawings for submission into drawing tracking system. Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.
