The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company. The Global Privacy Office (GPO) manages the enterprise data privacy and information life cycle management programs and conducts independent risk management activities for Compliance covering all life cycles of data/information risk management: creation, collection, usage, storage, and destruction. This role will be responsible for supporting the U.S. Privacy Program. The preferred candidate possesses a working knowledge of U.S. privacy regulations, sufficient industry, operational risk-subject matter expertise, and operational risk experience to be able to interact with multiple and complex lines of business and support functions to critically evaluate programs and controls, exercise credible challenge when appropriate, and facilitate suitable solutions. The candidate will also have the ability to visualize beyond immediate legal and risk concerns, and be able to identify future or emerging risk events associated with the practices. The preferred candidate will have experience leading projects, mentoring individuals, executing privacy-related projects independently, as well as developing and executing training. Responsible for supporting U.S. privacy-related strategy and the business activities Serve as a U.S. privacy subject matter expert to ensure compliance to all U.S. privacy regulation and laws in assigned projects and tasks Develop, maintain, and revise of policies, standards and supporting procedures and guidance documentation Support digital and behavioral advertising, actionable analytics and contextual marketing Support new business, merger, divestiture, and other formal privacy-related risk assessments Develop, support, and deliver privacy training and communications Support U.S. privacy notice processes, including review and business line guidance, as needed Provides guidance and credible challenge to proposed front line programs for compliance with U.S. privacy requirements Partner with privacy leaders and the Legal Department to ensure understanding and compliance with U.S. privacy laws, regulations, and emerging risks and the Information Risk Management policy requirements Assists with change management tasks and projects in light of changes in laws or regulations Stays current on privacy topics and seeks out appropriate training, as necessary **Please note that posting duration may be shortened based on job seeker volume.** Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management Desired Qualifications Solid creative and strategic thinking skills Supervisory experience Other Desired Qualifications IAPP Certification US privacy office or privacy focused experience within a financial institution Bachelor degree and equivalent experience at enterprise level Strong working knowledge of U.S. state and federal privacy laws and regulations particularly financial industry related privacy laws, risk, business process management, or financial services products and operations, of which at least 5 years must include direct experience in privacy oversight, privacy compliance or risk management with a privacy focus (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or risk).
