The MPC Los Angeles Refinery is currently seeking applicants to fill full-time Machinist/Millwright/Mechanic positions. Machinist/Millwright/Mechanics perform maintenance and repairs of refinery machinery – pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, and other equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Troubleshoots and repairs refinery machinery. Shop and field repair to refinery machinery including but not limited to pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, gearboxes, etc. Performs maintenance per established written procedures. Uses drawings, equipment manuals, procedures, and proper tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Documents work performed in test forms and condition reports. Use hand and precision measurement tools common to the trade. Operate equipment such as overhead jobs and cranes, forklifts, shop machinery such as lathes, mills, drill presses and other machinery to fabricate precision parts.

Electricians/Electrical Technicians install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, electrical components, controls, equipment and fixtures. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Troubleshoots and repairs electrical equipment Troubleshoots and repairs Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and PLCs 
 Performs maintenance per established written procedures. Uses drawings, equipment manuals, procedures, and proper tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment Documents work performed in test forms and condition reports
 Marks up drawings for as-built revision by drafting based upon field inspection Terminates motor connections Troubleshoots motor controls 
 Reads schematics and logic diagrams Conducts high voltage switching and grounding distribution systems 
 Conducts electrical testing and inspections 
 Uploads and downloads field data 
 Reads loop diagrams, logic diagrams, P&IDs Programmable logic control experience 
 Reviews and re-writes procedures for electrical work

The MPC Los Angeles Refinery is currently seeking applicants to fill full-time Instrumentation Technician positions. Instrumentation Technicians inspect, test, adjust and repair electric, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, record and control generating operations in a refinery. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Installs, tests, calibrates, troubleshoots and repairs field instruments including meters, transmitters, transducers, controllers, switches, solenoids, relays, control valves, regulators, actuators, positioners, and instrument loops. Services both electronic and pneumatic field instruments. 
 Troubleshoots and repairs Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, vibration monitoring systems, and other specialty instruments. 
 Performs maintenance per established written procedures. Uses drawings, equipment manuals, procedures, and proper tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment. 
 Documents work performed in test forms and condition reports. 
 Marks up drawings for as-built revision by drafting based upon field inspection. Reads schematics and logic diagrams 
 Uploads and downloads field instrumentation data 
 Reads loop diagrams, logic diagrams, P&IDs 
 Stroke valves and calibrates instrumentation per specifications 
 Programmable logic control experience 
 Uploads and downloads field analyzer data 
 Troubleshoots analyzer sample systems and calibrates analyzers per specifications 
 Reviews and re-writes procedures for instrumentation work   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum High School or GED 
 Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Instrument Technician or Maintenance Analyzer Technician in 
refining, chemical, power industry, or related technical school training or military experience 
 Journeyman level qualified 
 Good communication skills 
 Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.) 
 Successful completion of a skills assessment 
 Schedule: Technicians work a 4 day/10 hour per day schedule and must be available for overtime. Pay and Benefits : Starting rate for a qualified journeyman is $44.82 per hour with highly competitive benefits including retirement and medical. This is a represented position.   All Maintenance Craft positions work in various environmental conditions in the refinery, including but not limited to indoors such maintenance shops, outdoors in open areas, process units, at heights, underground and confined spaces.
