RAW is currently seeking Commercial Applicators for vegetation control on the Railroad. These positions require employees to travel for approximately 6 weeks on duty, followed by a 1 week break. Duties include operating equipment to apply herbicides on the railroad with a 3 – 4 man crew. Travel includes 15 states throughout the central US. The spray season runs for approximately 9 months (January – September). During the off-season, employees work in the shop performing various tasks such as maintaining and building equipment. Employees work 40 hours per week during the off-season or take a voluntary layoff. Competitive wages with 60 – 80+ hours per week (overtime after 40 hours), insurance benefits, 401(k) and paid travel expenses (hotels, meals, etc.).
