The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company. Wells Fargo Compliance is the company's compliance independent risk management function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all front-line business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise. Within WFA Compliance, the Internal Review team supports components of the Compliance Program Policy related to identification, assessment, evaluation and reporting of Compliance risk. The group is responsible and accountable for actively engaging in various stages of the Business Process Risk Management (BPRM) process to provide oversight as required and provide credible challenge. Maintenance of major requirement (MR) control data in the Wells Fargo Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) system ensures it meets all quality standards as required by the Firm. This encompasses both Major Compliance Requirements (MCRs) and Major Policy Requirements (MPRs) as applicable. In addition, the group conducts testing of the Firm's system of supervisory controls supporting FINRA 3120 requirements, as well as facilitating the FINRA 3130 annual Compliance Report and CEO certification process. The Compliance Sr Assoc will serve as a team lead in supporting the Compliance Program Policy, which includes participating in BPRM scheduled activities, and review and credibly challenge the results, including any issues of business process, control design, risk rating, or remediation plans. Performing MR initial evaluations and ongoing re-assessments, regulatory change management processes, and monitoring activities of other control programs. The Compliance Sr Assoc works with the line of business to provide internal control and compliance risk expertise to identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory risk in the business activities, as well as providing recommendations to strengthen the business control environment. The assessments of these regulatory controls will be performed in adherence with the Enterprise Testing and Validation Standards and will include usage of the SHRP system. The Compliance Sr Assoc will also be responsible for managing the data in SHRP to ensure it meets the all data quality standards of the Firm. The MR Compliance Sr Assoc is responsible for: Maintaining control data to ensure it meets Firm quality standards Partnering with the line of business to identify and assess controls both in the BPRM and MR programs Working with Regulatory Source Owners and line of business in assessing impacts based on new regulations Providing guidance to other team members who support the BPRM and MR programs Please note: Based on the volume of applications received, this job posting may be removed prior to the indicated close date. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 5+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in risk management Desired Qualifications Knowledge and understanding of audit methodologies and tools that support audit processes Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management Knowledge and understanding of banking or financial services industry Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills Ability to evaluate risks and the impact of decisions on an overall organization Audit or internal controls testing experience Audit, audit process, and audit plan management experience Experience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; and identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinations Other Desired Qualifications Have or be willing to obtain FINRA Series 7 Advanced degree (MBA) or certification (CPA, CIA, CFP, CFA) Job Expectations Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening Salary Information The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
