Supports the National Science Foundation managed United States Antarctic Program as part of the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC). The SSHO/QCM inspects, assesses, facilitates, and monitors all day-to-day site construction activities and field personnel to complete the project in compliance with quality and safety standards. Requirements Minimum Qualifications:   BS in civil engineering or related field from and accredited program 10+ years of relevant experience with Civil engineering principles and practices and project experience in some or all of the following areas: Hydraulic design for highway/transit Bridge hydraulic/scour analysis and floodplain management Municipal stormwater Strong background using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design software such as Civil 3D, Microstation/GeoPak, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS, HEC-1, HEC-2, TR-55, SWMM, SRH-2D etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) license required; ability to obtain North Carolina P.E. within 6 months required.   Preferred Qualifications Proven ability to lead the delivery of complex stormwater and water resources design projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee Designers and CAD staff assigned to your work or team. Review, comment and process equipment and system submittals. Perform coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, process and all electrical trades. Prepare designs, check, and specify power, lighting and auxiliary systems. Prepare power system single line diagrams, to include feeder and over current protection sizing, equipment elevations. Conduct short circuit and over current protection device coordination studies. Drafting of all layout calculations to accompany electronic layout data. Job Requirements High School Diploma Minimum 10 years of diverse field survey, engineering, and CAD experience. Heavy Highway/Civil experience is a must. Must be proficient in the use of CAD software for generating design data for construction of Heavy Civil projects (Civil 3d, Inroads, Terramodel, Business Center). Experience utilizing and maintaining machine control models on the project level. Trimble Business Center and/or Terramodel experience generating Heavy Highway/Civil machine control models is highly preferred.
