Inspector position exists to effectively assure vendor & manufacturing compliance to Thorlabs ISO9001 quality standards protecting customers. Inspectors perform visual and dimensional inspection of precision parts and make quick, accurate pass/fail decisions on many types of optics including filters, mirrors, crystals, prisms, and lenses. Visual surface quality inspections are often performed under 100 watt bulb in low lit room. Inspectors may occasionally be called upon to perform tasks including running the following: Spectrophotometer to confirm and interpret spectral scans OptoSpheric lens measurement system to verify focal lengths NewView to measure roughness with sub-angstrom accuracy Zygo GPI/Verifire/mini XP to measure precision optical parts for form error Laser engravers to add part numbers and other identifying marks to products Lastly, inspectors must keep up-to-date on topics in their field as well as be excited about continual training and growth in...
