The Virtualization Engineer has the responsibility of maintaining, monitoring and managing the existing virtual infrastructure, as well as migration and upgrade of the virtual infrastructure through lifecycle management. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems, responding to telephone calls, e-mail and personnel requests for technical support, documenting, tracking and monitoring the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Additionally, the position will be accountable for all level 1, 2 and 3 engineering/support and solution installations in the data center and in deployed facilities and tactical network locations. The role spans the data center as well as disaster recovery in relation to virtualization. Serve as a primary point of contact who is responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of our internal service. Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to facilitate our rapid iteration and growth. Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor custom applications in a large-scale environment. Drive standardization efforts across multiple services Identify and lead efforts to improve automation Participate in an on-call rotation Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment. The Virtualization Engineer will perform the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Configure Dell PowerEdge M Series, Dell PowerEdge VRTX Servers, Dell EMC, Cisco UCS, Cisco Business Edition, Cisco CMS. Cisco Collaboration Virtualization, Fabric Interconnect and Extenders.
VMware vCenter Server, vSphere Standard, vSphere Enterprise Plus, vSphere Platinum, Unity-Sync, VMWare ESX/ESXi 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5, vSAN, Site Recovery Manager, VMware Site Recovery, Virtual Volumes,
Install and configure ESXi 6.5 servers
vCenter 6.5 Server configuring licensing, network, and Virtual Machine Cluster
Veeam Availability Suite, Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Availability Orchestrator, Veeam ONE, Veeam Management Pack (MP), Veeam Agents,
Ensure compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and remedy deficiencies.
Expert in virtualization technologies: para-virtualization, hypervisors, etc.
Comfortable with rapid development cycles, tight schedules, and overlapping projects
Must understand components of VCF this includes: SDDC manager, vSphere, vSAN, NSX for vSphere.
Design, evaluate, install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot classified and unclassified server infrastructure environments (i.e., physical blade server hardware, chassis, storage arrays, rack mounted equipment, etc.), Windows Servers, Linux Red Hat Servers environments, and other equipment to support day‐to‐day operations, exercises, and events.
Plan, design, integrate and administer best practice disaster recovery techniques to support the continuity of operations of Marine Air Ground Task Force Staff Training Program (MSTP) server resources.
Conduct day‐to‐day administration, maintenance, and monitoring of the virtual environment.
Design, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise storage area network systems to support day‐to‐day operations and exercises/training events/wargames, and exercises/training events/wargames in which MSTP participates.
Perform day‐to‐day monitoring and administration for physical and virtual server operating systems, file structures, directory services, software distributions, client management, security postures, and updates.
Design, Data Migration, Configuration and Management of VMWare.
Implements backup and recovery
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – MCSE: Core Infrastructure
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate – MCSA: Windows Server 2016
Certification and expert knowledge experience support Windows and Linux virtualization in VMware technologies
ESXi on VMware vSphere v6.5/v6.0/v5.5, vCenter
MS PowerShell automation
VMware Certified Professional – VCP
At least five years of experience in IT, which should include successful experience as an enterprise team member or lead.
DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II or higher required – Current DoD approved IA baseline certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP); a minimum of one valid Computing Environment (CE)/Operating System (OS) Certificate (i.e. MS Windows Server 2012 R2 Cert, MS Windows 10 cert, a VMware 6.0 Cert); and at least 3 years in IA technology or a related area.

Advanced knowledge of best practices in corporate information security policies, legal and regulatory obligations such as ITIL, ITLM and equivalent standards

Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus
Daily travel in local area during work day (including use of personal vehicle)
Requires CONUS and OCONUS travel for up to four weeks at a time (or longer).

Active Secret Clearance Required
Possess a completed Personnel Security Investigation that will qualify to be eligible for access to at least the Secret level, and the ability to be read-in for NATO level access.
Must meet DoD 8570.1‐M Information Assurance workforce program requirements for Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher.
Must possess and maintain training and certifications sufficient to be granted privileged access to Marine Corps information technology (IT) and information systems (IS) through documented completion of required training and certification.
