Summary:  American Conservation Experience, a nonprofit Conservation Corps, in partnership with  the National Park Service , is  seeking four (4) Members  to work directly with the historic preservation staff and assist with carpentry, roofing, and woodworking projects on historic properties throughout the park including the Pierce Ranch and the Lifeboat Station. This opportunity intended for enthusiastic individuals with a background in construction who possess an interest in gaining experience in the field of historic preservation and resource management. *Military veterans strongly encouraged to apply*   Start Date: 1/6/2020 End Date: 5/23/2020 * A minimum  20 -week commitment is required *   Location:   Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, California Point Reyes National Seashore is located along the west coast of California approximately 30 miles north of San Francisco. The position is geared toward hands-on treatment of historic structures and preservation practices as they apply to the carpentry and millwork trades, and will involve working with park preservation team on this year's projects.   Project Background and Objectives:   This year's major projects will include window restoration work at the historic Lifeboat Station. The other project will include replacement of wood shingle roofs and fencing at Historic Pierce Ranch.
