GENER AL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the ETL Developer position is to design, develop, unit test, document, and perform ongoing support for the ETL and Database products and code. Additionally, the developer needs to understand ETL to and from common database and file formats. This person is expected to be a subject matter expert that other team members can use as a reference for ETL, Database Queries, data design, development life cycle, and programming.
Troubleshooting and correcting data and data processing errors in existing and COTS solutions.
Creating detailed documentation of the overall ETL processes.
Working with other technical teams, as well as with internal and external users, in order to develop technical designs.
Reviewing designs with the rest of the project team as appropriate.
Attending and contributing to architecture meetings to determine project scope, time frame and cost estimates.
Understanding the data models, as well as being familiar with the business information contained within.
Developing automated data validation and transmission routines, reports and error capture and notification.
Proven experience "taking the lead" to ensure project completion.
Proven technical aptitude and solid understanding of programming concepts.
Working knowledge of data modeling and reporting concepts/practices along with performance implications.
Experience using SQL Developer, TOAD, and/or other development tools used for SQL Database querying.
Experience taking a design and configure or developing it, and then testing the result
Demonstrate a strong understanding of RDBMS, Software Development (Java, Scripting, Stored Procedures), and Testing Methods
Strong experience in at least 1 programming or scripting language.
Broad understanding of IT infrastructure and application interfaces, database concepts, and general IT concepts (e.g. virtualization, cloud computing, platforms).
Ability to produce to an established schedule.
A commitment to continuous professional development.
A high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
Flexibility to work as needed outside of traditional business hours when required.
Experience working in a team environment under stringent time constraints.
Strong written and spoken communication skills.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field required; Masters preferred
Requires a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience
Deltek / Costpoint experience preferred
SPM product trained
Experience on SPM Projects

Secret Clearance (or higher level) required, or the ability to obtain one.
