WSP USA is currently seeking a Transportation CADD Designer in our Orlando, Florida office to join our thriving Regional Traffic Engineering practice! As part of this team, you will be a key contributor on major traffic and transportation projects on a local level, as well as throughout Florida and the region.
In this role, you will develop moderately complex working drawings within firm and industry standards as well as some advanced computer aided drafting and design work.
The successful candidate will have experience in both public and private transportation engineering projects. Position responsibilities will include:
Preparing layouts, cross-sections, various construction details from rough to detailed sketches and/or drawings using Microstation V8i, Geopak software, raster images and other advanced features in Microstation/Geopak software.
Setting up design files/projects from scratch for mid to large complex projects in Projectwise or other design platforms.
Working with FDOT Design Standards and Specifications, Design Manuals, plan delivery process.
Preparing ITS design plans, traffic signal designs, signing and pavement marking design, and other transportation, traffic and civil related design components.
Performing field reviews, inventories and investigation of the project sites.
Ability to work well with other related disciplines and coordinate design activities for timely completion and within resource budgets.

High school diploma or equivalent
Two years specialized technical drafting, math, and computer training. Formal CADD training preferred
5+ years of CADD experience, with a focus in both public and private transportation engineering projects
Familiarity with automated design programs including Microstation V8i, Geopak software, raster images and other advanced features in Microstation/Geopak software
Familiar with DOT Design Standards and Specifications, Design Manuals, plan delivery process.
Experience functioning as a senior or lead designer
FDOT roadway or traffic design experience is preferred.
