The Engineering Tech II will be under direct supervision from any senior-level team member. This position assists with established or repetitive engineering/research technical work. The candidate should be able to operate simple test instruments and control, make simple adjustments, and record data; set-up laboratory apparatus, perform simple experiments and record data; assist in and/or perform routine work in the fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of standard scientific or mechanical components, equipment, apparatus, and related devices, including related computations, perform a variety of standardized tests in order to determine physical properties of samples; using standard tables, perform specified arithmetic computations; plot data or results and draw simple curves; perform routine mechanical layout or abstract and compile specific data from records or other sources, such as drawings and specifications; operate transit, levels and other equipment used in surveying; assist others in performance of assigned tasks; and perform other related duties, as assigned. Candidate must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as work within a team structure or independently, depending upon the tasking. Education: High school or GED equivalent. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' related experience desired. CURRENT OR ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE STRONGLY PREFERRED. Highly qualified applicants may be considered without clearance, however all applicants MUST BE ABLE TO BOTH OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN CLEARANCE in accordance with US Dept of Defense criteria.
