Position Overview
Crossroads is seeking a Director of Market Research to support one of our clients.
Basic Function of the Position
Direct and oversee client's consumer and business research projects, including
methodology, design, analysis, marketing, staff supervision, budget administration, etc.
Contribute research and analysis to the client's industry forecasts and thematic portfolio.
Serve as industry analyst and client spokesperson.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Develop and direct client consumer and business research including: project
management, research calendar, methodologies, data analysis and
recommendations based on research findings.
-Serve as industry analyst and spokesperson for client through presentations and
media interviews.
-Assist VP, Market Research in assessing research needs of client; identify, design
and develop appropriate research methodologies for research projects.
-Develop direct-report research analyst staff by planning, recruiting,
communicating job expectations, coaching and training.
-Manage the execution of domestic and international quantitative and qualitative
market research projects. Includes identification of objectives, methodology,
sampling, questionnaire development, data analysis and report writing.
-Communicate insights from primary research in the form of in-depth written
reports, in-person presentations, articles, newsletters and white papers.
-Maintain and manage relationships with external research vendors, consultants
and service providers servicing client research. Evaluate new partners as needed.
-Participates in internal strategic decision-making through the use of consumer and
business research to foster and support data-driven strategy.
-Liaise with Communications and Marketing teams to develop press releases,
marketing campaigns and other ways to promote client consumer research.
-Serve as industry analyst supporting the Nasdaq/client index portfolio, researching
and rebalancing assigned themes, indexes, etc.
-Forecast and analyze assigned consumer tech categories for U.S. industry
forecasts.
-Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational
workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks;
bench marking state-of-the art practices; participating in professional societies.
-Ensures client primary research programs adhere to market research industry
standards and maintains the highest quality control possible for data and reports.
-Perform other duties as required by business needs.
Work Experience
-8-10 years of experience in market research.
-Research, survey methodology, and statistics expertise
-Supervisory, budgeting and marketing experience.
-Experience dealing with business, trade, and media required.
-Product and industry forecasting experience.
Education/Training
-Undergraduate or advanced degree required.
Additional Information
-Some travel required
-Media training a plus.

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Strong project management / budgeting / organizational skills.
-Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
-Effectively manage research staff and coordinate with multiple outside vendors.
-Keen interest in technology is preferred.
