Functions
- Assist the Senior Director of Donor Services in creating, maintaining and improving a system that provides accurate gift entry, timely updating of biographical information, courteous donor relations, timely and accurate receipting of gifts, and timely and accurate financial reporting.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage the daily workflow of gifts, biographical data and special projects.
- Become proficient in the use of selected technology and software to accomplish timely and accurate gift processing, receipting and reporting.
- Learn and be able to instruct staff on use of Ascend Salesforce, SAP, credit card software, Double the Donation software, Perceptive Content, and other applications as needed.
- Oversee testing of software upgrades, or replacements, offering suggestions for new or enhanced software.
- Review, revise and update all policies and procedures to assure timeliness and accuracy of ongoing departmental responsibilities.
- Provide training for all Donor Services staff, including regional campus staff.
- Assist the Senior Director of Donor Services in providing continuous improvement to the entire operation.
- Ensure that department is operating using current CASE standards, IRS standards, Purdue for Life Foundation standards and Purdue cash handling policies.
- Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the Senior Director and make timely decisions as needed.
- Provide instruction to other Purdue for Life and Purdue University staff regarding Ascend Salesforce and interpretation of giving.
- Build relationships across the University campus, Purdue for Life Foundation and Purdue Research Foundation to be able to respond to various information request timely and accurately.
- Supervise employees with responsibility in gift processing, receipting, daily reconciliation, audits and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills required.
- Interest in and ability to learn new technologies and software applications.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Able to handle confidential material responsibly and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals.
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, and preferred Salesforce CRM experience.
- Must be able to be bonded.
- Familiarity with university environments, especially Purdue, is preferred.
- Some after hours and weekend work required.
- Regular and reliable in-person attendance is a requirement of this position.
Education/Experience
- Experience with databases and accounting procedures.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Development experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required.
