Responsibilities

OBXtek is currently is currently accepting resumes for a contingent position, Configuration Management Specialist, Senior position supporting the Army's Product Manager Power Projection Enablers (PdM P2E) organization. Place of performance will be located at the P2E Headquarters, Fort Belvoir, VA. The start date for this position is TBD, in 1st quarter of FY-2023.

This person will work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. The main functions will be to provide assistance in configuration management of all necessary documentation for the Government to undertake and manage project system acquisitions

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides assistance in configuration management of all necessary documentation for the Government to undertake and manage project system acquisitions
  • Establishes and administers the documentation library and maintain the CM Library IAW the Army Records
  • Prepares engineering change proposal forms and related documentation and distributes official change notice forms and document change pages based on control board approvals.
  • Maintains official CM records, documents, distribution lists, correspondence and maintain all applicable configuration baseline documentation
  • Provide technical assistance and administrative support for the Requirements Control Boards (RCB) and other governance forums requiring functional participation, and facilitation of Subject Matter Expert (SME) workshops.
  • Support the presentation of Release Plans to the Engineering Control Board (ECB) for vetting, RCB for stakeholder approval, and Configuration Control Board (CCB) for contract approval
  • Support the development of the Government's CM policy, plan, charters, processes and procedures;
  • Review CM plans for compliance industry standards and the Capability Maturity Model;
  • Provide configuration accounting in support of change management activities and facilitate/participate in applicable IPTs and Control Boards;
  • Provide project document Configuration Management (CM) support;
  • Provide collection, reviews and input/import of critical Configuration Items (CI) documentation of physical networks, hardware, cabling, and assets to include: Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP), Local Area Networks (LAN), Data Centers, User spaces and desktops, Wide Area Networks (WAN), and as-built Project Drawings;
  • Prepare/coordinate technical and management-level reports, reporting CM metrics, baseline management and version control;
  • Provide a working, manageable enterprise C4I implementation that will enable continuous Change and CM of all IT configuration items throughout their lifecycle, cradle to grave.

    Configuration Management Library

• Maintain all applicable configuration baseline documentation;

• Maintain the CM Library IAW the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS)

• Maintain copies of all program documentation and contract deliverables

• Maintain records of all product baselines and configuration items (CIs)

Travel will consist of weeks' long trips both CONUS and OCONUS.

Travel can be expected 50% of the time.

Must be readily deployable (medically and administratively) to travel within 72 hours in any environment including contingency operations.

Qualifications

Active Secret Clearance

  • 8-10 years experience of related experience performing a variety of Configuration Management functions, including complete traceability of all requirements, configuration change control and systems specifications.
  • Knowledgeable of commercial and military standards and best practices applicable to Army communication sites

Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree; prefer Master's Degree
