Job Description

SME is seeking a Sr. Marketing Specialist to join our team in Cleveland, OH or Southfield, MI.

The Sr. Marketing Specialist will leads marketing and communication plans in support of the Tooling U-SME business unit.  They will be responsible for developing strategies, creating and managing budgets, establishing production schedules/timelines and implementing campaigns across multi-channels including direct mail, digital media, website, advertising, mobile and social media.  This person will also manage large complex projects and budgets.

  • Profile audience/buyers for marketing intelligence and to drive promotional strategies and tactics.
  • Formulate goals with Event/Product Managers.
  • Develop and manage annual marketing budgets in $250,000 to $400,000 range. Tracking project costs to control expenses.
  • Allocate financial resources across multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans, set project objectives to meet established goals.
  • Work with internal graphics department and/or external designer to lead the development of the creative strategy for assigned products/events.
  • Work with external copywriter to manage the development of copy platforms and key messaging for target audiences.
  • Manage all aspect of production including website, print and online advertising, direct mail, list research/strategy and acquisition and electronic promotions.
  • Create and manage content, optimize for SEO/SEM and manage analytics for all digital-marketing related activities including event websites, social media sites, microsites and digital marketing campaigns. Maintain content calendar.
  • Development, execution and optimization of paid digital efforts, including display advertising, mobile, SEM and SEO
  • Ensure digital design is optimized for branding, impact, SEO, web development, etc.
  • Direct/guide internal support services to complete projects, resolve problems and enhance results. 
  • Create/prepare production schedules and project status reports, monitor results and modify schedules/plans as required.
  • Monitor and measure evaluation of campaign results to improve overall effectiveness and ROI.
  • Support media relations/social media efforts working closely with Corporate Communications and/or external PR firm.  


  • 5+ years related experience including strong budget and project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Advertising, or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with paid search marketing including bid management, keyword research, campaign building, testing & optimization, data analytics,
  • Google AdWords, Google Analytics, and Retargeting
  • Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn advertising
