Safety Manager

TMS takes safety seriously, and we require all of our employees to use the standard industry practices to keep everyone safe on the job.  To that end, we are seeking an experienced Safety Manager who can evaluate the safety protocols on various job sites, organize safety training for employees, and report problems to management.  

 Responsibilities

• Administer, direct and manage incident prevention efforts to ensure company’s safety goals are met
• Visit job sites to conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment and materials
• Prepare and conduct safety meetings for employees
• Ensure the company is in compliance with safety regulations (OSHA, Federal, State, etc.)
• Track GPS metrics and apply findings
• Investigate, prepare and maintain a record of asset losses and workers compensation claims to make certain that the interests of the company are preserved
• Follow up with insurance claims to ensure that documentary information has been collected and secured in a timely manner. 

 

Education & Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field, or 10 years of experience in an equivalent role is required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, identifying threats and developing appropriate protection measure

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of PPE and DOT regulations
• Working knowledge of OSHA and other state and federal agency guidelines
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to teach, mentor and lead
• Ability to make independent judgments to manage and facilitate company programs/policies as they relate to the safety of our work
