Job Description

Comtel Corporation, a seventy plus year old Manufacturer's Representative Company that represents and distributes Physical Measurement Equipment, Test & Measurement Equipment, Data Acquisition/Analysis Equipment, and Environmental Chambers has an immediate opening for a Sales Engineer for the Michigan territory. This is a position in a target rich territory with a large installed customer base and an unlimited potential for a dedicated sales professional. 

 

Responsibilities include:

Assisting a diverse customer base that includes Aerospace, Electronics, Electrical, Automotive, Tier 1 & 2 suppliers, and General Industries in resolving application issues specific to their needs.  The position focuses on providing customer support, recommending engineering solutions, problem solving, and equipment sales!  In order to provide the best of customer support, and gain customer loyalty, this will be an exclusive territory

 

The Ideal Candidate will possess that entrepreneurial fire that drives

accomplishment.  You are provided the opportunity to freely manage your territory and customer base with results being the key measurement of performance. You are to maintain existing clients, develop new accounts and effectively grow the business.

 

Requirements:

Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred, however equivalent related experience will be considered.  Expertise in automation or test stand manufacturing is desirable.  Ability to establish a broad cooperative relationship with both manufacturers and customers (mainly engineers), as well as with fellow sales engineers and support staff. The successful candidate will have the organizational skills to prioritize tasks and to work independently.  PC skills are essential.  Technical Sales experience and knowledge of the greater Detroit manufacturing environment required. 

 

Competitive compensation:

This position is a Salary based compensation, with unlimited commission once commissions earned exceed the salary. The position also provides, Paid expenses, Laptop, Cell Phone and Mileage allowance, Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability Insurance and a 401(k).
