Job Description

Provides computer systems maintenance and repair. Maintains servers, software systems, and networks.  Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, firmware and network problems.  Configures, maintains and upgrades network connection devices, network hardware/software equipment, and automation equipment. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Support the acquisition, planning, integration, implementation, and accreditation of a specified system.
• Coordinate installation and operation of systems with the host unit, planners, and external system program offices.
• Provide system administration and maintenance support.
• Administer use accounts, file permissions, and print queues
• Load and configure software packages, updates and patches.
• Perform systems backups.
• Provide technical support to include troubleshooting user operating problems, application problems, system configuration issues and malfunctions, and network operating problems.
• Perform software maintenance comprised of: running utility software, isolating client, server, or peripheral configuration problems, cleaning files systems of extraneous temporary and log files, maintaining the approved system baseline.
• Document support provided including system supported, issues encountered, current status and projected or actual completion date.
• Install, Manage, Maintain, Configure:
  • Cisco ISE Authentication Servers
  • Cisco UC Gateway Devices
  • Cisco Unified Collaboration Virtual Servers, including Publishers/Subscribers (Call Manager), UCCX Servers (Phone Trees), CUC Servers (Voicemail) RHEL Linux servers used for Disaster Recovery Backups, Syslog Storage, Ansible Control Node(s), and general SFTP storage Windows Servers, a SolarWinds Server, NetMan Servers (Jump Boxes)

Skills:

Experience in telecommunications and/or network engineering in a large distributed environment with emphasis on military (US/NATO) operations.

Knowledge of life-cycle management of LAN/ Wide Area Network (WAN), test and evaluation, data performance and collection, quality assurance metrics and Microsoft Office applications.

Desired, but not required are

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate - CCNA Certification. System

network control center operations, requirement analysis, and computer-aided drawing, preferably Visio.
