Job Scope/ Summary

Plan and coordinate meetings and events for the Operations, Procurement, and Continuous Improvement (CI) teams.  Contribute to creating and sustaining best practices.  Communicate well cross-functionally.  Research, select and purchase assigned packaging materials at the best available cost, quality and service.  Maintain organized purchasing systems, data and metrics.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, coordinate and organize team events, which may include:
    • Order Kaizen meals, kits, and training materials for all CI Events
    • Order supplies, and awards for Operations Team.
    • Invitations, venue selection, arranging group transportation, hospitality and catering contracts.
    • Agendas, speakers, visual aids and presentation materials.
  • Implement and sustain visual organization of the workplace, using 5S tool. 
  • Lead projects as assigned and develop presentations and updates to communicate progress to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Learn additional job functions and be able to back up team members when needed. 
  • Coordinate Purchasing strategy for assigned categories, which may include:
    • Generating purchase history reports, category research, RFQ process, quote comparison, negotiation, monitoring pricing trends, and managing supplier relationships.
    • Maintain organized purchasing systems, data and metrics, such as price lists, supplier contact lists, contract summaries, feedstock price charts, and supplier performance reports.
    • Reviewing and resolving quality and service issues with suppliers and internal customers.
    • Identify and execute savings opportunities.



Bachelor degree preferred.

Considerable experience involving executive administration, inventory control, purchasing and material management work using computerized databases. 

Project Management and/or Event Coordination experience preferred.

Advanced Microsoft skills, especially PowerPoint
