Title: Registered Nurse Emergency Department
Duration: 13 26 Week assignment with possible extension
Vighter is recruiting a contract Registered Nurses to perform emergency duties in Pennsylvania. Emergency nurses provide rapid assessment and treatment to patients in the initial phase of illness or trauma and often in life-threatening situations.
Reports to :
Being ready to respond and equipped to deal with a medical emergency
Quickly assessing patient needs
Treating critical injuries, allergic reactions and trauma
Performing minor medical operations
Maintaining emergency room care standards
Assisting with insurance paperwork
Ensuring the efficiency of the patient check-in process
Displaying strong decision-making skills in emergency scenarios
Evidence of graduation from baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program in nursing for registered nurse.
Current unrestricted PENNSYLVANIA license to practice as a registered nurse. Any other state license will not be accepted.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC)
EPIC software experience required
Shall not have been convicted of a felony
Shall be able to read, write, and speak English
Shall be able to operate a personal computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Explorer, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. so as to efficiently create and/or utilize an Electronic Medical Record
Two years of ED experience
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day
Must be willing to work overtime if necessary
Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet
Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders
Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print
Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation
Must be able to pass a urine drug screen
This is a travel assignment with an initial travel and weekly stipend allowance to cover expenses related to travel to include but not limited to: flights, lodging, and per-diem for meals
