TRISTAR is seeking a Program/Project Manager for our government customer in Crane, IN

Position Description:

Looking for an experienced, proactive project assistant to work collaboratively with our customer teams on specific short- and long-term engineering projects. In this role, you will oversee tasks delegated to you by the Project Manager and customer management team, coordinate with team members, and ensure that the projects are moving forward on time and within schedule. You will need to be highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks while working independently. The ability to motivate others and keep projects on task in a positive and encouraging manner is also a must-have skill in this position.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the project manager and teams to maximize productivity
  • Collaborate with the project teams, contributing to the entire project lifecycle
  • Organize, update, and monitor schedules and ensure that deadlines are met
  • Ensure project schedules are in-line with and being executed in conjunction with Program Office master schedules
  • Help identify any potential schedule risks and mitigate appropriately with the teams
  • Coordinate current and future efforts within the teams
  • Report updates verbally and in written form to management
  • Help discern engineering and project requirements and coordinate appropriately to team members
  • Demonstrate commitment to customers' needs

Position Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Able to proactively address potential risks and issues
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Project. Experience and/or knowledge of Primavera P6 a plus
  • Ability to learn and utilize industry-specific software
  • Collaborative working style and team-player attitude
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to the team's success
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize task
  • Able to thrive in a high-volume, deadline driven work environment
  • MUST be a US Citizen
  • Must possess active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's level degree in an Engineering, Business/IT Management, Cybersecurity, or similar discipline
  • Previous experience working as a DoD contractor
  • Previous experience and expertise managing Engineering, Business/IT Management, and Cybersecurity contracts highly desirable
  • PMP Certification desirable

Education and Certifications:

  • 4 Year degree or at least 3-5 years in Program Management Support/Project Scheduling
