Purpose Built Families Foundation's Operation Sacred Trust (“OST”) program was established in 2011 to end Veteran homelessness in South Florida. The collaboration began when South Florida was a primary hub of Veteran homelessness in the United States. Fundamental to the approach of OST is attention to factors that create, contribute to, and address problems in living as reflected by challenges to housing stability for low-income Veteran families.
Operation Sacred Trust is unique in that it combines proven traditional outreach and case management best practices with novel nontraditional service delivery methods. From inception, funding has been awarded by the Veterans Administration Supportive Services for Veteran Families program. Since 2011, OST has prevented and ended homelessness for thousands of very low-income Veterans in Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Since 2014, the program has provided more than $4.2 million in emergency assistance for South Florida Veterans facing homelessness.
In 2018, Miami-Dade County became among the largest urban communities in the nation to achieve USICH benchmarks to declare an end to Veteran homelessness.*

Our team strives to improve housing stability for very low-income Veteran families’ through outreach, case management, resiliency services, and assisting Veterans to obtain VA and other public benefits, such as: health care services, daily living services, personal financial planning services, transportation services, fiduciary and payee services, legal services, child care services, housing counseling services, temporary financial assistance (including time-limited payments to third parties for rent, utilities, moving expenses, security and utility deposits, transportation, child care and emergency supplies).

The Human Resources Coordinator serves as a leadership professional supporting the agency's leadership team. This position reports to a Vice President and is responsible for all aspects of the Human Resources department, overseeing administration of hiring, retention, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, and long-term staffing strategies. Responsibilities include development and administration of personnel rules and regulations, pay and job classification structure, and programs for employee training, safety, health, and morale. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The Human Resources Coordinator works within applicable federal, state, and tribal regulations as well as established company policies, procedures, and philosophies.

The Operation Sacred Trust("OST") Program is charged with bringing unique approaches, experiences and expertise to serve homeless and low-income Veterans in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, located in the heart of South Florida. These counties have been hit particularly hard by the economic downturn as evidenced by the high level of poverty, low median income and skyrocketing foreclosure rates. Veterans have been particularly affected, with over 1,000 homeless Veterans and over 20,000 low-income Veterans living in the service area. Operation Sacred Trust is unique in that it combines proven traditional outreach and case management best practices with novel nontraditional service delivery methods. Funding for this initiative has been awarded by the Veterans Administration Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.
