Job Description

The City of Overland Park has a full-time Asset Management Coordinator position available in the Public Works Department.


Responsibilities: Oversees the department’s asset and work management program and ensures the accurate collection and reporting of infrastructure asset data, including training, system configuration, assistance with device implementation, report generation and analysis of data for management decision making. Work includes creating and maintaining asset management information from collected data, plans and files; making calculations, completing reports and performing analysis; monitoring citizen inquiries from OPCares and making sure work data is accurate and timely; overseeing complete asset records; and conducting quality control based on established methods. Coordinates and oversees training on work management applications. Participates in the city’s snow removal program as required. Candidates with the following additional qualifications will be considered: Ability to use data management and spatial mapping computer applications to organize and analyze data, with attention to detail and accuracy. Creating queries and producing reports, graphs, maps and other documents. Ability to configure software modules to align with program requirements and efficient collection of data. Good written and verbal skills. Proficient interpersonal skills to train users, one-on-one and is a classroom setting. Ability to develop effective relationships across the department and employees in other departments who use the software application.

Job Requirements

Requirements: Minimum of an Associates Degree in geography, computer science, engineering, environmental studies or related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.. A minimum of three years experience in asset management, project management, engineering support or related field. ArcGIS, Microsoft SQL or other database experience preferred. Use of mapping software and creating complex reports. Knowledge of public works operations desired. No City residency requirement. Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and physical. 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Mon-Fri.  $26.83-$33.54/hr. Open until filled.
