The Development Department is responsible for all fundraising activities raising more than $11M in general operating support and assisting in raising more than $5M for the Annual Dinner. The department manages the organization's 150-member Board of Directors and organizes all board member meetings and events as well as prospect events. The VP of Development plays an integral role in the Ad Council's fundraising program by managing a portfolio of key corporate donors and developing campaign partnerships, helping to fundraise for special projects / go big issue campaigns, and developing new revenue opportunities for the Ad Council's Edge. This position reports to the SVP, Corporate Partnerships.
What you'll do:
Manage a portfolio of 30 – 35 accounts from the Creative and Media Agency dockets, responsible for raising approximately $2 million in annual general operating support; create a pipeline of new support to increase revenue
Lead monthly Agency and Media meetings
Work with SVP, Corporate Partnerships to initiate and secure strategic corporate partnership with major brands that provide impact and visibility
Develop programs to extend campaign impact through corporate channels
Responsible for corporate funder communications and updates, including stewardship reports
Identify new revenue streams and develop model to engage non-Board member corporate partners
Identify prospects and new revenue opportunities to support the growth of Ad Council's EDGE
Work with SVP to manage 30+ brand relationships and lead various engagement tactics for the Vaccine Campaign
What you bring (qualifications):
7+ years of experience working in a high-performance professional environment
Fundraising experience, or a combination of experiences that have a substantial client relationship management component including marketing, advertising sales, or traditional and social media
Exceptional interpersonal skills; demonstrated success in developing and maintaining executive-level client or donor relationships
Outstanding communication skills, both written and spoken
Excellent project management track record, strong organizational and follow-up skills, and attention to detail
Self-motivated and goal-oriented
The desire to make work a fun and rewarding experience
Some travel required
Ability to work East Coast hours
