This position provides a consultative customer approach with customized solutions for SME’s leading events, media, and sponsorship opportunities in the advanced manufacturing market. This role requires prior multi-media sales experience and an ability to interact with high level executives. This role represents SME’s entire suite of product solutions building profitable customer relationships. Prospecting and selling new accounts are an essential aspect of the role. This position requires a broad knowledge of the organization’s services, products, and marketing techniques. Critical skills for success include strong organizational aptitude, effective communication skills both verbal and written along a commitment to customer success. Experience with Salesforce, Excel and PowerPoint are essential in this role. This position reports to the VP, Media.
Develop assigned geographic territory representing the Manufacturing Technology (MT) Portfolio (SME Events and SME Media) to include MT Series events exhibits, MT Series events sponsorships and 8 supporting media products.
Meet or exceed individual and team sales objectives as set by management. Specific metrics will be provided in the incentive plan.
Primary focus is to increase customer interaction and build successful relationships.
Provide exceptional customer service to assure high customer loyalty and retention.
Actively manage accounts aiming to increase participation across all of SME.
Prospect for new business.
Prepare and present targeted customer proposals.
Document sales activities, contracts, and opportunities in Salesforce daily.
Maintain all client and prospect records in Personify and Salesforce ensuring the quality and accuracy of reporting.
Actively participate in weekly goal setting and goal achieving meetings.
Attend SME Events, competitive events, association meetings and onsite customer meetings as required.
Maintain high level of product, industry, and customer knowledge.
Ability to take initiative, offer new ideas, and keep abreast of market trends.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering, technology, or related.
3 + years related experience in events, media, or sponsorship sales.
Strong experience in digital products preferred.
Experience in manufacturing is a plus.
Proficient in standard word processing programs.
Effective written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills.
Able to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
