Description

Major Duties / Responsibilities:                                                                                                  

  • Responsible for driver hiring, driver training, performance assessment, rewards and recognition and discipline
  • Oversee all fleet safety programs and ensure the development of, and adherence to, standard operating procedures and policy guidelines
  • Oversee driver efficiency and training programs                   
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the dispatch function including managing dispatch staff, planning staff requirements and personnel scheduling
  • Coordinating communications with Customer Service, Sales, EFS, Supply and Maintenance functions
  • Implementing systems and trainings to improve efficiency and reduce errors; provide daily/weekly reports on all fleet operations
  • Looks for ways to reduce costs and increase profits, in addition to finding means for getting better fuel efficiency
  • Manage product delivery information systems used to support fleet operations (Raven’s, KeepTruckin, Zenput, etc)
  • Responsible for customer order fulfillment including but not limited to remotely monitored tank inventories, “will call” customer orders, time based (“Julian”) automatic deliveries, EFS fuel orders and compliance with customer contract requirements
  • Responsible for all driver and fleet compliance reporting including drivers hours of service
  • Ensure all Driver Qualification Files are maintained and accurate; Comply with all the laws and regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation
  • Coordinate with Fleet Maintenance and Portable Tank functions to optimize overall preparation, maintenance and repair efforts for the all trucks and portable tanks/equipment including preventative maintenance and long-range capital replacement programs. 

Education / Experience / Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business management and/or operations required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of DOT and related compliance requirements for commercial motor vehicles
  • Strong problem solving, strategic thinking, analytical and decision making abilities
  • Excellent leadership skills, including goal-setting, motivation and training
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to staff, outside vendors, government agencies and senior management
  • Solid computer literacy (Word, Excel and Dispatch software)
  • Ability to travel when necessary
  • Prior Commercial Driving/Dispatch Experience preferred
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, evenings and on-call to support the business
  • Ability to lift, carry and push/pull 50lbs
  • Familiarity with the tristate region (WV, OH, PA)
