Provides advanced pre-sales technical engineering support for new business development activities including sales presentations, product demonstrations, and solution development to maximize revenue, earnings and customer satisfaction. The Solution Architect maintains a leadership role by analyzing business requirements, presenting related solutions and driving the business case and financial justifications. Qualified candidates will possess deep experience in networking primarily in a sales-oriented, technical solution design and architecture role, with an emphasis on various network architectures, including Routing & Switching, Security, Cloud services, Network Management and Multimedia solutions.
Consult with clients, customers, and internal account managers to drive new business development with the design of integrated technology solutions. Acts as a key point of reference with regard to the conceptual design and system specifications.
May deliver, or assist with, customer presentations and/or technical demonstrations on core products/services, advanced applications, and emerging technologies.
Assist sales team with the required conceptual design and system specifications, architecture, and materials list. Contributes to the effective closing of large sales opportunities. May contribute in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Ensure technical feasibility and accuracy of each proposed solution within cost guidelines of the project. Provide solution development to maximize reliability/functionality of the proposed offering.
Define technology solutions and strategies to resolve customer issues and achieve business goals
Prepares and delivers sales and technical training; leverages question-based selling strategies advancing clients in their buying process.
Understand the competitive landscape and have the ability to clearly articulate the technical differentiation and value proposition associated with the organization's solutions versus competitors.
Evangelize and educate the organization's products and services to stakeholders regarding the capabilities and solution offerings.
Stay current with technologies and trends and incorporate this knowledge into products and solutions to solve customer problems.
Interact with product management as required to support product improvements (i.e. compatibility), innovations, and emerging technologies.
Mentors and provides coaching/training for field application engineers.
Assists with trade show product demo design and presentations.
Performs other duties as assigned
5+ years of experience and 4 year degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science; significant experience within this industry may be substituted for candidates with an Associate's degree.
Extensive experience in computer networking and IP based multimedia technologies required.
Preferred technical certifications include: Avixa CTS, CompTIA, and Cisco CCNA.
