Job Description

Source Electric Services, LLC (SES) is located in beautiful Melbourne Beach Florida. Our organization is seeking out highly skilled troubleshooter Journeyman and Master Electricians to provide support for residential and commercial customers. The perfect candidate shall have in-depth electrical knowledge both practical and theoretical as well as National Electrical Code knowledge. While not a requirement, the candidate may be well positioned for our future marine division should he/she possess marine experience on yachts. (SES) is NOT a construction company.

  • The work is primarily performed at residential and commercial locations: both indoors and outdoors. Some jobs may be performed at construction sites. There will be exposure to high levels of heat, cold and humidity at various times during the year. There will also be exposure to smoke, fumes, dust, dirt and high noise levels on occasions. Must also be able to work in confined spaces and heights up to 20’.
    • Completes work as assigned by the Lead Technician, office staff or manager(s). Prioritizes work, according to the schedule and severity of the work to perform.
    • Completes work in an efficient and self-sufficient manner and in accordance with the orientation/job description. This includes: 
    • Service calls for troubleshooting electrical systems;
    • Perform electrical estimates;
    • Design aspects, calculations etc. and
    • Contract work.
    • Must be well versed in National Electric Code, Municipal Codes and Power Company Requirements (FP&L and Duke Power). Performs all work in accordance with these requirements.
    • Successfully supervises and trains apprentices and other electricians on electrical installation practices, procedures and customer service relations.
    • Ensures that work is performed correctly and that the company vehicle is properly stocked and maintained.
    • Completes Data entry for work orders: labor and material, equipment, other and time card entry into the frontend platform. Processing completed in an accurate and timely manner (during the actual related job).
    • Informs Lead Technician/General Manager of any scheduling problems in a timely fashion.
    • Ensures completion of jobs so that work is satisfactory to meet customer’s deadlines and in a neat workmanlike manner.
    • Ensures accurate processing of jobs on daily schedule according to specifications provided by the Lead Technician/General Manager or dispatcher.
    • Ensures that supplies are not wasted and that the cost of supplies remains within budgetary guidelines as established by the Lead Technician/General Manager.
    • Cleans vehicle, puts materials in the assigned shelves and cleans the work site as required.
    • Operates Company owned and personal tools in a correct and safe manner. Completes a maintenance form and emails to [email protected] for tools in need of repair and/or replacement.
    • Stores all tools and material in a secure location, to prevent theft: in locked company van or cab; or, in a secure place within the establishment being serviced. No tools shall be left at job sites.
    • Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
    • Performs any other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Lead Technician and/or Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Must have great communication and customer service skills.
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills in the electrical industry.
  • Must have in depth electrical knowledge both practical and theoretical as well as National Electrical Code knowledge.
  • Must have or obtain within one year year of employment with SES a certification of experience as a journeyman or master electrician as required by the State of Florida.
  • Must be able to present at least three job references.
  • Must be able to lift 75-125 pounds.
  • Must have excellent eye sight, depth perception and not colored blind.
  • Must be in sound physical condition and able to perform a physically demanding job which requires sitting, standing, bending, pulling, crawling and stretching during the entire shift
  • Must be able to read and interpret Blueprints, Shop Drawings, schematics and technical interpretation of documents/instructions for the electrical industry.
  • Must have a valid Florida State Driver’s License, free of DUI, DWI and reckless driving tickets.
  • Must have interest and capability in using field based computer systems and phone applications. Must be computer efficient and be able to operate a applications with industry specific software for billing, time tracking etc.
