POSITION SUMMARY

Participate in the planning, development, implementation and measurement of comprehensive marketing and communications programs that are designed to build Envision’s brand and increase mission awareness across marketing channels and media outlets. Work with internal stakeholders and media outlets, develops public relations, marketing and media programs that can be leveraged via Envision and Envision Dallas social channels and in other digital channels in support of Envision’s mission, vision and goals. The Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and execution of Envision's local PR strategy and supports national efforts.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE (List in order of importance)

  • Execute and maintain social media initiatives that include the use of social networks such as Face book, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and others in order to advance volunteerism, fundraising, special events and public education in line with Envision’s mission.
  • Execute the social media initiatives set forth in the strategic plan for Envision and Envision Dallas platforms.
  • Coordinate campaigns, including Google Ad words, as well as research other pay-by-click advertising on the Web.
  • Generate a favorable public image for all Envision locations by preparing organizational publications for internal and external audiences, responding to requests for information from the media, and establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with representatives of the community, employees and public interest groups.
  • Develop internal communication strategies for organizational happenings, events and notifications that impact mission, marketing or brand activities, to include the preparation of emails for key stakeholders and articles for the employee newsletter. 
  • Facilitate the development and writing of Envision and Envision Dallas internal newsletter Ensight. This includes developing story ideas, interviewing employees and providing all necessary content to design within the provided timeline.
  • Partner with internal and external content managers, editors, designers, developers, and others to ensure sites within the Envision digital ecosystem

meet Envision needs, align with the brand strategy platform, and meet organizational web standards.

  • Perform videography by delivering a wide range of internal and external video productions.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans for the departments within Envision and Envision Dallas.  
  • Collaborate to research and implement creative marketing solutions. 
  • Oversee the activities of the third party PR firm, ensuring that initiatives follow the approved plan.
  • Develop and execute the local PR plan ensuring that initiatives support the national PR plan. This includes maintaining relationships with local media within the Wichita area and assisting with relationships within the Dallas area, developing and preparing pitches to local media and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure interviews are scheduled and key messaging is delivered.
  • Facilitate public relations and marketing strategies to include media forums and community organizations that align with the goals and objectives of Envision and Envision Dallas.
  • Handle PR duties as assigned, to include writing, disseminating and providing follow up for local press releases, managing local reporters and establishing and expanding local media relationships.
  • Establish and expand the relationship between Envision and other sister organizations as well as NIB as it relates to communication or marketing initiatives.
  • Facilitate and manage the execution of NFB Newsline. This includes management of a 3rd party contractor and development/review of appropriate content for the Kansas channel.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to consistently strive to enhance employee morale through innovative and cost-effective ideas and communication, emphasizing the relevance and importance of our employees and their value to our company, and promoting Envision and Envision Dallas as a meaningful workplace. Assist with internal employee events as needed.
  • Provide technical expertise at internal and external conferences and events.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Marketing Journalism or related field required.

 

Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in social media and/or digital communication as well as 5 years experience in journalism, public relations, or editorial writing required; non-profit agency experience a plus.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite a must; experience in video direction and/or script writing skills a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in blogging, social media, monitory and analytics tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to:
    • Prepare presentations and speak effectively in a variety of venues
    • Work independently, conceptualizing and executing projects
    • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
    • Plan and coordinate events
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential communications or public relations issues.
