The Yard Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the yard equipment, occasionally making deliveries/ pickups, and overseeing special event load-ins, work details, load-outs, and equipment recovery. This position can require extensive physical exertion when assisting yard employees during festival season. The Yard Supervisor can be exposed to extreme weather conditions and unpleasant odors and sights. The hours and physical demand may vary depending on time of year and type of operations taking place.

  • Administer all work yard operations and ensure compliance to safety policies.
  • Maintain neat and clean yard at all times.
  • Develop and implement yard fire protection programs to ensure fire safety.
  • Maintain optimal level of customer services and assist to resolve all customer issues.
  • Supervise all company staff in all yard operations.
  • Assist with hiring and train staff to develop and achieve all work objectives and evaluate performance on a regular basis.
  • Perform appraisals for staff, evaluate work and recommend changes as required.
  • Perform risk assessments, site inspections, and aid with analyzing results to implement all safe work procedures.
  • Ensure proper handling of all materials, store appropriately, and assist with the SDS library.
  • Monitor inventory of yard supplies and place purchase orders as necessary.
  • Perform routine and non routine maintenance on equipment and prepare report to submit to Operations manager.
  • Monitor loading of equipment to ensure safe transfer to events/ festivals.
  • Coordinate with Operations to investigate accidents and identify root cause of damage.
  • Monitor work of employees and initiate disciplinary actions as required.

Job Requirements


  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (occasional physical exertions, including lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing).
  • Ability to drive truck with a manual transmission a plus, not required.
  • General knowledge of mechanics of trucks.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays (must be flexible with scheduling).
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with all customers and co-workers.
  • Previous medium-large truck driving experience preferred but not required.
  • TWIC holder or able to acquire a TWIC.
  • Ability to pull a trailer required (experience level is subjective).
  • Waste industry experience, a plus, but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, tablets, and/ or smartphones.
  • Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.


  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have at least a valid Louisiana driver's license.
  • Must carry a TWIC card or obtain one after the first 90 days of employment.
  • Must not have any DUI’s or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in any 10-year period.
  • Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years.
  • No more than 2 moving violations within the last 2 years.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug testing, potential physical, and Motor Vehicle Record check..


  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
  • Exposure to human waste possible but not likely.
  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions, driving large trailers on city streets, and placing equipment in small spaces.
