JOB SUMMARY CBRE is looking for a Technical Program Manager- Electrical Engineer for Data Center Construction to support data center construction activities and development of new projects for a large technology client in Sunnyvale, CA,IDEAL CANDIDATE You are an Electrical Engineer with a positive can-do attitude and seek to overcome unique design challengesProfessional skill set of how design affects construction and ability to learn from construction visitsYou are a great communicator who can express complex ideas in a concise manner through all digital mediums (design drawings, presentations, video conference) both internally and with clients.You have experience successfully performing QA/QC of design drawings on large scale projects +200k sqftYou are well organized and can meet changing project priorities to make sure your team and projects stay on scheduleYou have the ability to program manage cross-functional stakeholders for program level process and commissioning assetsYou have experience coordinating electrical scope with multiple discipline trades (architecture, telecom, mechanical, plumbing, structural and civil)ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support the development of next generation electrical system productsContribute to new technology insertions through collaboration with the core engineering teams during development. Create system level concept and schematics designs, and carry through to detailed designsProvide and prepare all types of documents including: statement of work, engineering reports, design documents, total cost of ownership analysis, drawing markup, budget, schedule, and commissioning program documentsCoordinate documentation of electrical design, end to end scope, for data center buildsCollaborate with the design, construction, facilities, and environmental health and safety teams to develop company proprietary data center (DC) electrical designs and productsEffectively lead product development meetings with stakeholders, manage and distribute meeting notes, distribute action items, and follow-up on open itemsManage multiple external vendors delivering design through construction services throughout the product development life cycleWork with internal stakeholders on system requirements and translate requirements into design drawings for distribution to external consultantsCoordinate documentation of all design disciplines, end to end scope, for data center buildsCollaborate with the design, construction, facilities, and environmental health and safety teams to develop company proprietary data center (DC) designs and productsImplement automation tools to reduce the production time internally and externallyReviewing in-progress drawings & Autodesk Revit models to ensure documentation is at an appropriate level of detail at each design milestone, identify coordination issues, and escalate to our consultants to prioritize their focus on critical items affecting schedule to close out during design meetingsProactively escalate and communicate issues or challenges to the appropriate teams, develop solutions, and implement with appropriate approvalsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.Manages 3rd party project delivery resources/team (typically larger more experienced team). Responsible for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching, and motivating team members.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) from College or University in a technical area of study. Minimum six years of related experience and/or training.Preferred Qualifications8+ years of experience focused on electrical design and construction management experienceBS Electrical EngineeringExperience with AutoCAD and Revit or equivalentFamiliarity and experience in working with cross discipline teams: architecture, civil, mechanical, plumbing, structural, and telecomGeneral knowledge of design practices coordinated with architectural, civil, electrical, fire-life safety, mechanical, plumbing, site-planning, and structuralPractical knowledge of critical infrastructureAbility to structure and solve complex, ambiguous problemsExcellent project management, interpersonal, and organizational skillsExperience developing requests for proposal (RFPs), scheduling projects, cost engineering, reporting project status and costs, and consulting with contractors and vendorsExperience working with data center equipment/environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems)Experience managing vendor relationshipsFamiliarity with Google Drive and all related products (sheets, docs, slides)Knowledge of large-scale facility electrical and electrical systemsExperience in the bidding, designing, operating, and commissioning of electrical distribution systemsUnderstanding of startup/commissioning processes and standard practices in the design and construction industryExcellent requirement gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling, and goal attainment skillsKnowledge of BIM360 a plusCERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES PMP (US and/or Canada) and LEED AP preferred. Professional Engineer preferredCOMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Knowledge in MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results.
