The Babson Financial Literacy Project (BFLP), a not-for-profit organization, is designed to help young adults acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for long-term financial prosperity. We use interactive case studies developed by Babson finance professors to teach financial skills in community-based workshops. We help delivery partners design and deliver a program that's right for them, and we supply trained coaches or train-the-trainer resources for organizations wanting to run their own workshops. Participants do not need any financial expertise, and only basic math skills are required.We are seeking a part-time, contract workshop trainer to facilitate financial literacy workshops, primarily for community college students. The ideal candidate will be creative and resourceful, must be able to engage effectively with young adults, and be comfortable with technology and teaching in Zoom. Demonstrated excellence in teaching or training is required, and a solid understanding of financial principles is a must.The workshop trainer will facilitate workshops to both inspire and educate participants on important financial principles. S/he will need to gain a rapid understanding of our materials and online delivery approach. Workshops typically range from one to one and one-half hours and are typically conducted in the afternoon or evening. The format includes an overview of the financial topics, case discussion, small group breakout rooms, and pre- and post-workshop polling to measure participant learning. Responsibilities Develop a strong understanding of workshop materials and online teaching model. Help young adults gain important financial skills through workshops and foster a mindset to become financially responsible. Engage students so they will apply financial concepts to their daily lives. Measure program results via polling and/or quantitively survey. Collaborate effectively with Babson team to maximize workshop effectiveness. Provide feedback on workshops in the spirit of continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Education, Finance, or a related field A minimum of three years in teaching or training Demonstrated excellence in teaching or training Experience in the financial services industry and/or knowledge of personal finance Proficiency in PowerPoint, Google Apps (Docs, Slides, Sheets), and Zoom Self-starter with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Must have a strong ability to connect with diverse learners Commitment to the mission and vision of The Babson Financial Literacy Project Compensation: Competitive compensation, depending on experience. Hours: Workshops are run in the afternoon in the evening, and we expect the trainer to run up to ten workshops through May of 2021.
