Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for an Electrical Construction Inspector  for our  New York City, New York office.  The position will perform construction inspections and communications equipment installations at project sites throughout NYC.  Work items may include utility relocations, electrical/power connection, communication device installation, commissioning & testing oversight.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect  construction activities performed by contractors.
  • Reviewing work for conformance with the plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Performing Quality Assurance inspections
  • Communicate with all project personnel including contractors, construction inspection personnel, client staff etc.
  • Create complete inspection reports that document all on site activities
  • Monitor testing and commissioning activities
  • Attend meetings as needed
  • Night work and weekend work likely

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license in the State of New York
  • Minimum 11 years of relevant experience
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Prior Experience with NYCT
  • D/B Quality Assurance inspection oversight is a plus
  • Experience in utilizing electronic reporting systems
  • Associates Degree or equivalent or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related field OSHA 30 Hr
  • Current NYCT Track Training
