Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Project Manager to work in our Detroit or Lansing, Michigan offices.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages and leads a group of site civil engineers.
  • Manages engineering activities for all phases of an assigned project. The incumbent must be capable of demonstrating creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment.
  • Manage project tasks for conceptual, preliminary engineering and final design activities. Assures that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requiremnets, budget control scheduling, cost engineering control, quality control and project objectives.
  • Leads in the formulation of advance technical concepts in proposal development, preliminary design phases and presentations to client
  • Represents respective projects at meetings and conferences
  • Makes recommendations on project staffing, evaluates subordinates and makes salary recommendations

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or a related discpline.
  • Professional Engineering License in the state of Michigan or able to obtain one within 6 months.
  • 12+ years of experience in medium to large civil (site or highway) engineering projects
  • Significant experience with hands on design of building sites projects and have a thorough understanding of coordinating site civil design with local building municipal requirements and the building designers project goals and design concepts.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project and staff management experience on large civil projects including those using design-build project delivery
  • Experience serving as a Project Engineer and Designer on building site development
  • Ability to be licensed in multiple states
