Instructor/Assistant Professor of Science (Engineering)

Position: Instructor/Assistant Professor of Science (Engineering)

Full-Time, 10 Month, Tenure Track

Provide Engineering and Physics instruction in an environment that encourages student success. Individual will create a student-centered learning environment that incorporates best practices and academic technology in the classroom.

Essential Functions:

1. Teach all courses in all levels of Engineering and Physics
2. Fulfill all full-time faculty responsibilities as stipulated in the faculty contract;
3. Design/develop/evaluate curriculum including the update of Course Activity Proposals/degree sheets
4. Participate in outcomes assessment at the course and program levels
5. Incorporate and utilize technology in classroom
6. Provide academic advisement and tutoring
7. Serve on at least one (1) college/division committee
8. Participate in outcomes assessment activities at the course/dept./institutional level
9. Hold office hours at all times classes are in session
10. Maintain academic and/or professional currency credentials
11. In addition to daytime courses, may be expected to have evening/weekend assignments
12. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Certification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field and a Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

Experience:

College level teaching experience in the discipline.

Starting Rank and Salary: Academic rank and salary are commensurate with credentials and experience.
