Carnegie Robotics builds custom robotics systems for government and industry. We also manufacture and sell rugged robotics components that allow other organizations to develop their own robots. We’re small enough to have many of the benefits of working for a startup, but we have a very broad customer base, making us more stable and recession-proof than most organizations our size. We are developing and deploying cutting edge technology in robotics, perception, and machine learning. Many of our development efforts go on to have real-world impact in robots that find land mines, clean floors, enable the development efforts of other organizations, and much more. This is challenging, exciting work, and we are committed to building the company culture and diverse team that will allow our continued success.
We are looking for creative, energetic Electrical Engineers with great product development skills to work on a variety of interesting and challenging robotic perception and control projects. In this position, you will join a team of robotics experts to work with advanced sensors and autonomous robots from the ground up. We’re looking for great engineers who love their work and take pride in building solid, rigorously tested systems. Positions are open for entry-level, experienced, and senior electrical engineers.
What we’re looking for:
A degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
Strong technical skills in circuit design and PCB layout.
Background in engineering debug analysis using tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.
Experience with robotics and related areas, such as mixed signal systems, sensor interfaces, power converters, motor drivers, embedded systems, etc. is preferred.
Experience authoring design documentation: requirements documents, test specifications, technical memos, and hardware design specifications for fabrication and assembly.
Working knowledge of at least one programming language is preferred.
High quality health/dental/vision insurance with flexible spending plan or HAS
24 paid holidays and 15 sick and vacation days
Premium pay if you have to work 50 hours in a given week
401k plan with employer match
