AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking highly motivated and talented Physical Security Specialist to support the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects.
This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Security Specialist.
A typical day as a Physical Security Specialist may include:
Responding to system alarms
Creating repair tickets for government combination locks
Changing combinations on X-07, X-08, X-09, X-10, and S&G locks
Creating and maintaining monthly SF701 and SF702 in accordance with installation regulations
Coordinates with contractors for service, repairs, and upgrades
Knowledgeable in security requirements from SECNAV 5510.36 and OPNAVINST 5530.14
Geographically located within an hour from NAS Patuxent River
Experience with access control, badging, Intrusion Detection System (IDS) operation, Automated Entry Control Systems (AECS), and the Department of Defense Lock Program
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, to include MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Reliable and have a strong work ethic
Excellent attention to detail, good verbal and written communications
Have reliable transportation and current driver’s license
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years' of relevant work experience
DoD Secret security clearance

Physical environment and working conditions:
The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
