Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for a Cloud Architect for our Ephrata, PA office. The candidate will be responsible for designing and managing our Cloud Strategy and Architecture worldwide. As an expert, the candidate will advise management to make the best decisions regarding cloud services. The candidate will be recognized for their ability to optimize and automate our existing systems. The candidate will join a team of international experts with diverse backgrounds and work closely with our local IT teams. The position offers an exceptional opportunity to build a career in a large and growing global business environment.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Global Manager of Cloud and Compute Architecture and the rest of the Global I&O Team to develop a Global Cloud Strategy
  • Work agnostically with multiple cloud providers and hybrid architecture
  • Utilize best and most appropriate methodology for migrating Services to the Cloud
  • Act as an evangelist for the Global Cloud Strategy
  • Participate in solution design
  • Work closely with our global supplier to oversee and govern the technical underpinnings of our global infrastructure and operations agreement
  • Provide design strategies Cloud Systems and develop and coordinate Cloud Architecture
  • Provide technical guidance and alignment to the supplier in line with global architecture and standards
  • Ensure the supplier is meeting expectations in terms of performance (SLA) and quality of services
  • Act as liaison with the supplier during transition and in the future operating model
  • Participate in the global infrastructure and operations technical governance process
  • Ensure supplier adherence to process, procedures and standards
  • Play a role with the Global Mergers and Acquisition team for the integration of all new infrastructure systems resulting from acquisitions or internal projects requiring amendments to the outsource service contract
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant IT Infrastructure experience, at least 3 years cloud related experience
  • Proven experience with:
  • Azure, AWS, GCP and other Cloud platforms
  • Experience developing forward-looking architectures
  • Experience with moving on-prem solutions to fully utilize cloud offerings
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft environment including O365, Teams, Azure AD and other infrastructure applications
  • Researching 3rd Party Applications for Cloud Adoption options
  • Experience with IaaS, SaaS and PaaS solutioning and selection and when to choose between them
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security in both on premise and public cloud scenarios
  • Experience with Azure AD, Identity providers
  • Strong knowledge and commitment to quality design including design patterns and software engineering best practices
  • Ability to demonstrate cost models and potential savings
  • Understanding of Chargeback Models
  • Exposure to Engineering applications such as (but not limited to) would be an advantage: AutoDesk AutoCAD and related systems, Bentley, ESRI, ArcGIS, 3D/4D Modelling
  • High degree of initiative
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically with others in a problem-solving environment
  • Ability to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to end users at all levels
  • Ability to present complex ideas and concepts to all levels of management
  • Ability to work directly with End Users to determine current use cases and requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills equivalent in English
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
