Parsons is seeking a Radar Engineer to support the Army's development, upgrade, fielding, sustainment for Army Counter Target Acquisition (CTA) radar systems at one of the Army's premier R&D Centers of Excellence at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. This position includes opportunities to influence and support the next generation of Army RADAR and C4ISR systems and technologies.
The Radar Engineer collaborates with our customer, vendors, and the Parsons team to influence, develop, enhance, and field the next generation of radar systems, signal data processing technologies, and electronic protection techniques. The Radar Engineer supports the design, development, test and evaluation of new technologies for current and future Army Counterfire Target Acquisition, and Force Protection radar systems. The Radar Engineer will provide engineering expertise to develop and review requirements generation and baselines, system and subsystem specifications for elements of a radar sensor based on top-level radar system requirements, systems architecture and integration, test strategies and methodologies to evaluate new or competing radar designs, identifying shortcomings in radar performance, diagnose root causes, and develop design changes or corrective action and interface with multi-disciplinary product development team to support the design, enhancement, integration and test of the radar system.
BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar field.
5 years of experience in ground-based target acquisition radars systems design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, data analysis, and model and simulation (M&S).
5 years of systems engineering experience with radar, RF, or C5ISR systems.
5 years of experience with radar or RF signal processing and systems engineering and testing including algorithm development.
Experience developing test plans, test procedures, schedules, and reports for laboratory and field tests/demonstrations.
Experience in using agile development methodologies for system design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, and data analysis
Experience in identifying shortcomings in radar performance, diagnose root causes, and develop design changes or corrective action
Experience in preparing technical reports, technical briefings, technical drawings, performance work statements, system developmental schedules, performance specifications, and requirements documentation.
Experience performing trade studies, research, and the analysis of radar/RF concepts and capabilities.
This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance, which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
