We are currently looking for a System Corrosion Leader I for our Louisville, KY office; however we are open to other North Region locations in Indiana and Tennessee.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
In this role, you will be in charge of managing corrosion projects for Texas Gas assets in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. You will be rresponsible for direct oversight and implementation of all corrosion control programs for the natural gas pipeline including transmission, gathering and storage and will also be responsible for budget preparation, project identification, project management, cost estimation, cost tracking, scope of work development, obtaining bids, and executing the following types of corrosion projects: 1.) ground bed replacements, 2.) rectifier and remote monitoring installation or replacement, 3.) test lead installation, 4.) Annual Pipe to soil review and preparation of alternative options for remediation of low potentials identified in the review that will enhance the system and provide economical solutions to the problems, 5.) shorted casing testing and repairs, including clearing of casings and replacement of end seals and filling the casing if necessary, 6.) testing shorted insulators, 7.) Perform interference investigations with foreign pipelines and AC power lines, 8.) Review of Cathodic rectifier systems in assigned area through compliance software to insure 100% compliant surveys , 9.) technical oversight of Corrosion Technicians, provides OQ training for Operations and Corrosion personnel, assists ABL’s with development of Corrosion technicians.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
*Minimum of 8 years experience in corrosion control
*NACE CP Level 2 or Sr. Corrosion Technologist
*Experience in pipeline cathodic protection
*Experience in indirect surveys (CIS, DCVG, PCM, etc.)
*Strong knowledge of CP Technology and CP systems
*Strong written verbal and communication skills
*Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
*Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
*High school diploma and certifications as listed above
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
* College level courses in corrosion control or additional NACE certifications
