Come join us and help shape the future!   WSP is currently initiating a search for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager for our Atlanta, Georgia team!  The Senior Civil Engineer should have experience with the design of civil, highway, and transit related projects - traditional delivery and/or alternative delivery.  This position will function as the project manager or lead engineer on major projects for the state DOT and other local agency / municipal clients.   Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage Projects and maintain schedule, budget, and profitability of assigned projects, overseeing preparation of plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Lead a Civil/Highway design team.
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines such as structures, hydraulics, traffic, and utilities, etc. including remote office locations.
  • Collaborating with management to determine long-range plans and objectives, including recommendations on project staffing, evaluating and mentoring of subordinate staff.
  • Review, monitor and/or develop complex layouts, sketches, plans, specifications and estimates, standards and guidelines, correspondence, and/or prepare reports.
  • Participate in preparation of technical proposals and labor estimates.
  • Maintain positive client relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering License in Georgia
  • 12+ years of experience in large transportation and infrastructure projects
  • Significant experience working with GDOT projects and clients
  • Project and staff management experience on large civil transportation projects
  • Skilled in design applications such as Microstation/Openroads/Inroads, HCS, Geopak
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience serving as a Project Manager on Alternative Delivery projects
