ERPi is currently searching for a full-time Healthcare General Management Consultant to support The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) High Reliability Organization (HRO). VHA has committed to a journey of enterprise-wide HRO transformation. The HRO concept was pioneered in fields such as nuclear energy and aviation – high-risk and operationally complex industries - where the consequences of error can be catastrophic. In recent years, the healthcare industry has begun to adopt these concepts to improve consistency and safety. A successful candidate can put their quality and safety background, business process reengineering, data analytics, and management consulting skills to work. The ideal candidate will be an energetic professional to support fast-moving, wide-ranging program and initiative needs. The candidate should be innovative, strategic, and have a passion for join a high performing team that supports clients in federal health care administration and management. Our work spans program management; studies and analysis; process improvement and redesign, strategic communications; change management and implementation; program evaluation; and clinical and healthcare management.
Support client directors/managers with high-level, cross-functional focus and assistance
Delivery of high quality, senior executive-level deliverables
Evaluate analytical results and develop new and adapted analytical techniques
Prepare briefings, studies and reports for presentation to senior executive level and senior client officials
Provide performance analysis and process improvement using industry best practice methodologies and tools
Design communication strategy products to client stakeholder groups, and build quality briefing presentations, social media postings, and other media
Review and analyze reports involving workload data, performance metrics, and other statistical information for content, completeness, and timeliness, and develop executive key summary information
Share accountability for delivering a high reliability and quality-driven workplace focused on the human experience to ensure clearly defined roles and accountabilities that are focused on exceeding expectations while paying attention to the details
Serve as a change agent to VHA’s HRO journey to affect change by reducing errors, increased reporting, and an overall culture of safety
Implement strategy and policy to support high reliability deployment and sustainment
Perform statistical and data analysis; populate data repositories, and maintain a knowledge repository
Coordinate program level training events focused on high reliability training and coaching, policy deployment and implementation
Communicate the HRO vision consistent with VHA mission and values
Implement evidence based (literature based and experiential) high reliability practices
Proactively recognize opportunities for improvement and initiates effective strategies to promote change
4-15 years of experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline (preferable in healthcare)
Understanding and expertise of high reliability principles and concepts
Understanding and proven application of project management best practices such as PMI’s PMBOK
Strong analytical skills with ability to define, collect, and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make logical decisions
Strong organization and prioritization skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including reports and presentations Proven experience developing detailed project plans, project budgets, resource plans, and risk management plans
Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative and results-driven environment
Means to build and manage client relationships at all levels
Think strategically to effectively assess and assemble solutions to meet needs
Must be a US Citizen or Green-Card Holder in-order to obtain Public Trust Clearance
