The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of employees performing warehouse functions in support of Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) at NAS Mayport, FL. Supervised functions include pick up, receive, verify, sort, stage or shipment of materiel at warehouse locations and designated areas of buildings located at NAS Mayport.to be delivered to LCS ships at NAS Mayport docks. The Supervisor shall have full authority to act for the Contractor on all contract matters relating to daily operation of this contract and will ensure that all warehouse functions are done timely and correctly IAW contract stipulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Supervisor manages and directs daily warehouse operations in support of Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) stationed at NAS Mayport. He/she will coordinate and schedule personnel and equipment at warehouse locations to inspect and receive inbound shipments on both government and commercial conveyances to include:
Supervise receipt, sort, label, store, stage, issue, delivery and shipping of materials at warehouses are performed efficiently
Supervise personnel actions and perform random Quality Assurance Checks of documentation relative to shipping and receiving, orders, inventory, and disposition of materiel for completeness and to verify number of pieces, boxes, containers and pallets match documents, printouts, spreadsheets or shipping manifests
Inspects and verifies that supplies and materials to be delivered to ships are staged on time for ship arrival. And, ensures that adequate number of personnel are available to move items from staged locations and are loaded on trucks on time to meet delivery schedule
Performs safety, quality control and environmental inspections to ensure compliance with Navy and Federal policies and regulations. Coordinates training of all assigned personnel to recognize fire and safety hazards and encourage personnel in the performance of their duties to report fire and safety hazards and unsafe conditions
Establishes storage layout and manages space requirement
Updates and implements standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Receives and executes daily requirements and provides required documentation to the CO
Analyzes, monitors and improves warehouse operations to meet productivity and quality goals
Participates on inventory count, audits, shipping, receiving, deliveries etc. as needed
Meet with the COR on a monthly basis to review contract performance to include review and analyses of key process indicators, analyses of process deficiencies, and problem resolution
The Supervisor shall take appropriate action to resolve outstanding issues and problems identified
Additionally the Site Supervisor will:
Seek constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes
Maintain high ethical standards in the work place
Reports all irregular issues and problems to the COR
Complies with all company policies and procedure
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area and organizing data and documents.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Candidate must demonstrate capability to manage and supervise warehouse operations in addition to the following:
Ability to work with computer systems and use websites (Electronic Retrograde Management System (eRMS) and NAVSUP One Touch Supply is a plus)
Licensed and ability to drive and operate vehicles up to 5 Ton trucks, Material Handling and Warehouse Equipment
Knowledge of warehouse management systems applicable to the Navy or military services
Knowledge and experience performing shipping/receiving, storage, staging and delivery functions to include packaging and shipping
Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Ability to fill out forms and address labels to include accountability reports of transactions
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Must undergo an employee background check
Must have as a minimum a high school diploma
Must have a minimum of (2) years of Department of Defense warehousing or distribution experience.
Must be knowledgeable of warehouse operations to include shipping and receiving functions.
Licensed to drive/operate Forklifts, and Government owned or leased light and medium size trucks up to 5 ton Capacity
