WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transit Planning Project Manager for our Houston, Texas area. This position reports to the Manager of the Texas Planning and Environmental Team, within WSP’s National Planning and Environmental Planning Practice. The selected individual will be responsible for providing Full Time managerial, engineering and technical expertise for WSP's transit planning practice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as a technical expert and task manager on transit planning projects, NEPA studies, corridor studies, alternative analyses, transportation policy, land use planning, access planning, and new mobility assignments
Provide Project Management on transit planning projects, including contract negotiation and managing to a scope, schedule, and budget
Aid local offices pursuing or delivering transit planning projects with technical expertise, including opportunities to travel
Demonstrate your skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication
Assist in growing the business by writing marketing proposals and providing other business development support
Management of technical staff

Bachelor’s degree in a related field
AICP Certification preferred
15 years’ experience in transit planning projects
Deep understanding of FRA/FTA processes
Established relationships with transit agency officials in Houston area and more broadly within Texas
History of successful project and task management
Ability to manage multidiscipline teams of both in house and subconsultant staff
An ability to work independently on projects and giving direction to support staff.
Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
A strong desire to learn, take on challenging projects, and think outside the box to solve unique problems
