Job Description

The Dobbs Truck Group, and its wholly owned subsidiaries; Dobbs Peterbilt, LLC and Western Truck Parts and Equipment Company, LLC (WTPE), operates 28 Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, and Hino truck dealerships in the States of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, and California.

The Service Shop Assistant will perform a variety of tasks to improve the efficiency of the service shop.  This position will focus on maintaining the shop facilities, washing trucks, and delivering trucks to customers.


Dispatching of truck transportation to CDL Drivers

Assist delivery drivers as necessary (with fork lift) to un-deck inbound new and used trucks.
Inspect and check-in new and used trucks; tag for PDI’s and give to Service to open a repair order.
Arrange new and used truck inventory in yard; maintain keys.
Arrange to have new and used trucks washed and detailed as necessary.
Fuel new and used trucks as necessary.
Periodically start used trucks to insure batteries are charged.
Pick-up and delivery of trucks for the Trucks Sales and Service Departments.
Take pictures of both new and used truck inventory and upload into CRM.
General yard clean-up and maintenance.
Delivery of new and used trucks for Out-of-State delivery as needed.

Minimum Job Qualifications
18 years of age
Valid Driver’s License and a qualified MVR abstract

Desired Job Qualifications
Valid Commercial Driver’s License and a qualified MVR abstract
Minimum tool requirements for job responsibilities (see below)
High school graduate, GED, or one year of work experience
Strong customer service skills
Dependable team player with a positive attitude

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions.   The noise level is normally loud.
