Job Description


This position is for a mid-level Network Systems Administrator supporting both Linux and Windows based workstation and servers in both physical and virtual environments. The candidate will perform daily systems checks and identify and resolve issues as they arise. The candidate must be able to understand and support standard system and network designs, configuration, system maintenance, both software and hardware system installations, and troubleshooting of user reported issues. The candidate will be be expected to understand industry standard deployments of typical open source and commercial software technologies. The ability to think critically, solve problems, and provide solutions is crucial. At times, the candidate will be expected to perform their duties under minimal supervision.Roles and Responsibilities:Diagnosis and resolve user and system infrastructure issuesInfrastructure monitoring and optimizationPlan and coordinate system outages and upgradesNetwork monitoring and maintenanceInstall server and network equipment in datacenter environmentDocument infrastructure architecture changesResolve user requests and issues reported to the HelpDeskOn rare occasions, support after hours system upgradesRequired Skills:Must be a US CitizenCandidate must have a current TS/SCI clearanceBachelor's degree in a technology related discipline or equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree5+ years experience with Linux installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting5+ years experience with Windows 7/10 and Server 2008/2016 installations, maintenance, and troubleshootingExperience in maintaining virtual environmentsUnderstanding of basic networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP) to include cable standards (CatX, SFP+)Desired Skills:Familiar with VMware, SQL, and Docker technologiesExperience with Atlassian software (Confluence, JIRA)Experience with a wide variety of open source software and utilitiesExperience managing Windows Active Directory or LDAP based networksBackground in Network Security, Intrusion Detection, and Server monitoringFamiliar with server and networking equipment rack installationsBasic understanding of server power (208V) and cooling requirements (BTU)Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.Ready for action?
